I was honored when I was recently asked to be a guest on the MuggleNet Academia Podcast.
The MuggleNet Academia podcast is a comprehensive insight into the literary thematic elements and scholastic endeavors that author J.K. Rowling has provided in her writings of the Harry Potter series.
The podcast is hosted by Keith Hawk and John Granger, “The Hogwarts Professor.” My buddy C.S. Plocher from WriteLikeRowling.com was also a guest, so we had a lot of fun! (You probably recall C.S. Plocher contributed an amazing guest post here recently titled What We Can Learn from J.K. Rowling’s Series Grid).
The title of this MuggleNet Academia Lesson is “How to Write Like Rowling” and we discussed different theories of structure and symbolism that appear in the Harry Potter novels (and we dabbled in a discussion of The Hunger Games, Twilight, Divergent, and more!). Here’s the official description:
In this academic lesson, we talk about Harry Potter as a literary artifact and how we can use the series to help aspiring writers become better at their craft. WebBloggers C.S. Plocher and Christine Frazier join us for this great lesson. Enjoy the show!
A big thank you to Mugglenet Academia for having me as a guest!
